Play Grapple Tournament VR for Free This Weekend via Steam

It’s time to grab those grappling hooks and check out Tomorrow Games’ adrenaline-packed Grapple Tournament VR, the thrilling arcade shooter that enables you to enjoy freedom of movement only possible in immersive reality. If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s your chance to maneuver through beautifully designed environments in various multiplayer game modes and co-op challenges while the game is available for free on Steam through 10 am PDT Monday.

Built from the ground up for virtual reality, Grapple Tournament VR has all the components of a great VR game. The concept is unique and fun, maps are specifically designed so players can make the most use of their grappling hooks, there are tons of customization options, and devs actively fine tune mechanics and weapons based on player feedback. Twelve guns, five maps and three game modes (Free For All, Team Deathmatch, and Capture Point) add to the appeal of the game as there’s something for everyone.

The game is available on all major PCVR headsets including Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality, but the free weekend offer is only available through Steam. If you decide to purchase the game, it’s 25% off on Steam this weekend and you can add it to your VR library permanently.

Reviews of the game on Steam are “very positive” with a 93% positive rating from 146 user reviews. The ratings are even more impressive when you consider the fact that most of the non-positive ratings are related to low player numbers, a common problem in many multiplayer VR games.

For Oculus enthusiasts, Grapple Tournament VR can be played on Quest platforms using the Link cable, but the developers are also actively working on porting the game over. They’ve been very open about plans and have a Trello board accessible to players for roadmap transparency.

A Quest port would definitely help increase player numbers since many new VR esports enthusiasts joined with the Quest 2 influx last fall and currently most are playing games like Onward, Echo Arena, and Population: One, all playable on the standalone headset without a cable. Once Grapple Tournament VR is available on the Quest without a cable, it’s likely that there will be a large increase to the playerbase.
