Survios has just officially announced the anticipated release of Sprint Vector for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR. Vectorheads, get your headbands on, wrist cuffs on, and your arms warmed up and ready!

Release Date and Compatibility

The skill based, arms swinging, competitive VR game, Sprint Vector, is getting a February 8th release date for the HTC Vive and Oculus on Steam, while the PlayStation VR is getting theirs on February 13th!

Game Changes

The game’s release is to include 12 maps, up to 8-player racing, and special game modes. 21 maps is a huge upgrade compared to the 2 courses, Ice and Arid, that we played in an advanced demo of Sprint Vector. The 8-player competition modes are also refreshing and new compared to the PvP gameplay that we were used to seeing at the Alienware VR Cup in Las Vegas, and during the Championship Intergalactica in VR arcades across the world. As for special game modes, we’ll have to see what they have in store for us.

VR Fitness Benefits

Racing through intergalactic maps and tracks, Sprint Vector players will gain movement by pumping their arms like a speed skater with fluid locomotion and gain speed boosts and other explosive abilities by punching forward. This pumping motion is something runners also do to boost their movement speed which works the arms, shoulders, chest, and upper back, while the stance stabilizing you will strengthen the thighs and hamstrings.

Fit gamers who have played Sprint Vector report that the challenge of competition with friends or other competitors makes time fly by quickly and diverts the mind away from thinking about the game as exercise. There’s so much going on in the moment at the Sprint Vector track that there’s little time to think about anything other than where you’re headed, obstacles, boosts, and getting ahead. Challenging other players on the Leaderboards is going to give you a push to be the best sprinter you can be.
