Released quietly on 21st December last year, Sairento VR is a first person shooter and sword combat virtual reality game set in futuristic Japan. Sairento VR is not only the indie game developer’s first game, but also Singapore’s first full action VR game to enter the international market.
Fans have complimented Sairento VR for its unique gameplay in letting them feel like an action superstar. Players can perform feats like leaping a few metres into the air, slowing down time and guns blazing, thereafter landing in front of an enemy and swiping a katana blade through him. In VR, this feels engagingly real.
“We wanted to treat players to an exhilarating and visceral VR experience, from being able to perform double jumps to taking down foes in a ballet of slow motion gunplay,” said Chalit Noonchoo, Lead Developer of Sairento VR.
Mixed Realms is reinvesting the proceedings of its early access sales into making the game even better. Besides plans to increase the number of maps, enemies, weapons, skills and improve on the enemy AI, it has also engaged a talented game writer to give Sairento a story line and a composer to produce an original soundtrack for the game. More importantly, Sairento will be boosted with a multiplayer co-op feature for players who want to have fun and challenge the game together.
Aldric Chang , CEO of Mixed Realms, remarked, “We are extremely encouraged with the positive response we are getting from the international gaming community. Our decision to reinvest whatever we’ve made so far into making the game even better is a natural and easy one to make. We see it that the gamers have given us their vote of confidence and we should repay them with an awesome full game.”
The full Sairento VR game should be completed and delivered by mid July to August 2017. In Sairento, you play as a member of the Silent Ones – a righteous but covert organization of seemingly ordinary people who practice the long forsaken code and martial arts of the ancient samurais and ninjas. You are tasked with uncovering the sinister secret behind other members of the Silent Ones turning into crazed nano-infected shells of their former self and in the process, fight your way through multitudes of your past comrades.
Crafted painstakingly to provide an engaging and visually stunning first-person swordfighting and gunplay – expect awesome weaponry, intuitive controls, challenging levels, menacing enemies and beautiful environments in your fight to restore order to the world.
Players can experience the thrill of leaping 15 feet into the air, slowing time down while blasting away at enemies before landing to deliver a lethal smite on another with their katanas.
The combat system was tested rigorously amongst the gamers, the development team, family, friends and people practically dragged off the streets, to ensure an intuitive and immersive experience. Get transformed into a mighty warrior with an arsenal of ancient weapons with a futuristic twist and engage an endless horde of enemies across different locations.
- Engage enemies using our innovative combat system, allowing you to fight in slow motion and parry incoming projectiles like a boss.
- Cut your enemies down with a futuristic katana, blast them to smithereens with good old fashioned guns or pierce them with shurikens fired from your shuriken gun.
- Fancy hurling blade beams from your katana? You can do so by upgrading your abilities and weapons as you accumulate experience from completing missions and destroying enemies.
- Leap 15 feet into the air, perform double jumps, run across walls or slide across the floor like only a true action super star could.
- Traverse a reimagined futuristic Japan in locations like a temple, atop a speeding train and other exotic places.
- Submit yourself to a visual treat fighting an assortment of enemies with smart AI.
